My Mother, the Queen

Mediuim: Oil on Canvas

When I painted my mother, I wanted to capture her strength and grace. I envisioned her as royalty - a queen not because of wealth or privilege, but because of her resilience and dignity. Her crimson dress commands attention, a bold colour that mirrors her personality: fierce, loving and steadfast.

Behind her, Arabic script flows across the canvas, grounding her regal presence in the culture that shaped her. The patterns envelop her like a throne, a subtle nod to the idea that her strength is deeply rooted in tradition and heritage. This piece isn’t just a portrait; it’s a celebration of my mother as the backbone of our family, a woman who holds generations together with quiet power.
